Flywheel

The flywheel on a forklift serves several important purposes: Stores rotational energy to keep the engine running smoothly between power strokes. Reduces engine vibration and provides a more consistent engine speed. Helps start the engine, as the starter motor engages with the flywheel's ring gear. Transfers engine power to the transmission through the clutch (on manual or powershift-equipped forklifts).
